About Önonta

●Who I Am●
My name is Raphaëlle, and I live off-grid in the heart of the Québec forest with my three dogs, in a yurt, fully immersed in wild nature.
From this rooted life, I gave birth to Önonta, founded in 2021 — a sacred and raw creative space, deeply connected to the forest.
I craft bone jewelry and hand-tanned leather clothing all created through a respectful and sustainable approach.
Every material I use — bone, leather, feather — is found, reclaimed or gifted. Everything is transformed with care, slowness, and gratitude.
● My Process●
I personally clean and process every bone, feather, and hide.
Bones are sourced from animals found in the forest, roadkill, or through donations. Feathers are gathered from dead birds or gifted.
Leather is either tanned by hand using ancient natural techniques, or recycled from existing garments and scraps, to give them new life.
It’s a manual, slow, and rooted craft, guided by respect and instinct.

●What I Wish to Share●
Through my creations, I aim to share a reverence for life and death — the beauty of the natural cycle, and the freedom to embody our raw, instinctive essence.
My art is a direct extension of my habitat. Each piece I create carries the essence of the forest — its spirit alive in the lines, textures, and forms. It is not simply adornment.
It is ritual, remembrance, and connection.
Through Ononta, I share the voice of the wild, the call of the land, and the deep, ancient power of the untamed feminine.
These creations are talismans — grounded, sacred, and free.
An invitation to wear the strength of the forest itself.
